Software Solutions for Retailers

RETAILER Point of Sale

The best way to assess whether the Tower Systems Point of Sale system is right for your business is through a one-on-one demonstration. There, one of our product experts can guide you through all the areas of the system which interest you. There is no pressure or obligation arising from such a demonstration. In addition to industry specific facilities, Tower Systems RETAILER software provides excellent generic business management tools in the following areas:

Point of Sale (POS)

From the Point of Sale screen, you can perform a host of functions including: selling items (by barcode, PLU (stock code) or touch screen); recording payment (cash, credit card, cheque or account); looking up stock items; querying customer accounts; setting up customer accounts; creating new lay-bys; doing lay-by payments; recording repairs; making repairs payments; checking sales for the day among many other things.

Management Reports

RETAILER has over 60 reports designed to suit a wide variety of needs. All reports can be displayed on the screen, archived for future reference, or printed. These cover several areas, including:

• Sales by day of week, by week, by month, by hour. Period comparison - covering any two periods and broken down by department and/or category.
• Shopping basket. What sells with what at the department, category and individual item level, for any period selected.
• Management. Business Analysis Report (for any selected period) showing ROI, stock turn, floor space performance and shelf space performance by department and/or category; Stock Performance Report; Supplier Analysis Report; Sales Profitability Report; Ranked Sales Report; Category Performance Report; Fast Sellers report.
• Suppliers. Sales, GP and item comparisons by selected period. Many reports in the system allow comparison between suppliers, or reporting just on one supplier - to help you determine their value to the business. Supplier Listing Report.
• Theft. The Audit Log prints details of steep discounts, cancelled sales, deleted sales and other events. Tower Systems also offers a free Theft Check service.
• Customers. Accounts. Debtor reports. Labels. Orders history.
• Employees Sales Report allowing split sales between employees; Employee Roster (includes option to email and/or SMS rostered hours to each employee); generate lists based on customer purchases, interests, age and other criteria - so that Microsoft Word can be used to generate personalised letters.

Theft/Security.

Password protection is available for most functions in the system. This is set by users and can be changed at any time. You are in control of the level of security you operate with. In addition to password protection, you are able to report on activity which might be an indicator of fraud in the business by an employee.

Stock Control

RETAILER is designed to process electronic invoices if the invoices provided work with the standard invoice file formats. We are often able to modify the system to meet special requirements. Using the Invoice Arrivals function, you tell the system about stock as it comes in. For ordering, you can create a reorder report. It can also create a file in a standard format for you to provide to suppliers as an electronic order. RETAILER will only order what has been selling - you can add special requirements to this so that the system serves your specific needs.

Catalogues and Sales

RETAILER has a comprehensive catalogue management facility. You can set up start and end dates and times. During the catalogue/sale period, the items selected are sold for the price you have specified. The catalogue function can also automatically process details provided by a marketing group or supplier if they come in the standard format.

Business Accounting

The RETAILER-MYOB link (an extra cost option) will feed your sales and supplier invoice data directly into your MYOB databases, thereby creating a complete accounting solution for your accountant and for your business.

Employee Rosters

Each version of retailer is sold with the roster facilities. These enable you to set up your employee rosters weeks in advance. You can create the rosters 'visually' so that you can see when people are scheduled to work, therefore better manage your employee resources. Once finalised for a week, the roster can be printed and sent by SMS or email to employees.

Software Enhancement

We encourage all of our users to suggest enhancements which could be built into our software to make it more valuable. We regularly review these suggestions and many make their way into the regular updates we release for the software each year. Software User Manual

Tower Systems’ software is not provided with a user manual. Rather, the company provides comprehensive advice sheets for the key functions in the system. The advice sheets are provided when the system is installed, with updated versions available without cost from our website.

Software Updates

Tower Systems releases, on average, three updates each year. Each update is thoroughly tested prior to release. The company has a policy of openness in relation to any bugs found in an update. Updates are provided on CD, along with a fresh complete copy of the software for safe keeping and use in the event of an emergency where it needs to be installed on a new machine.
